Terms of Service
Last updated: October 6, 2026
These terms are the deal between you and Knockless. Knockless is run by York Computer Repair Inc., a Pennsylvania company at 2069 Carlisle Rd, York, PA 17408 (“Knockless,” “we,” “us”). When we say “you,” we mean the business that signs up and anyone who uses the account for that business. By creating an account or sending a postcard, you agree to these terms.
The short version
- Knockless is for US businesses. You must be 18 or older.
- Everything on your postcard is your responsibility, and it has to be true, including your license number and any “licensed and insured” claim.
- Follow your state’s rules for contractor advertising. In Pennsylvania, that means your HIC registration number goes on the card.
- Cards go to “Current Resident.” No harassment. If someone asks you not to mail them, stop.
- Cards cost $1.75 each ($1.50 each when you mail a whole neighborhood), with a $5.00 minimum per send. We hold the total on your card before we mail, then charge only for cards that are accepted for mailing.
- You don’t pay for cards the mail service rejects. You do pay for cards that get mailed, even if the Post Office can’t deliver them.
1. Who can use Knockless
Knockless is a tool for businesses located in the United States, such as roofers, siding and window companies, painters, landscapers, computer and tech repair shops, real estate agents, and other local service businesses. To use it you must:
- be at least 18 years old;
- be using it for a real business, not for personal mail; and
- have the authority to agree to these terms for that business.
Postcards can only be mailed to addresses in the United States.
2. What Knockless does
You drop a pin on a house. The app looks up the address. When you tap Send, we hold the total on the card you saved and ask our print-and-mail partner to print and mail a postcard to “Current Resident” at that address. The card shows the company name, logo, phone number and license details you entered.
- Neighborhood mailings. You can also mail the 20 or 50 homes closest to one of your pins, or every home on that pin’s mail carrier route (“whole neighborhood,” usually a few hundred homes; up to 1,200 per send). We get those addresses from a licensed mailing-list company that uses Postal Service data. For “closest,” we pick the closest homes we can find on that mail route, which may not be every closest home. The app shows the number of homes and the total before you pay.
- QR codes. Each card prints a QR code. When someone scans it, they see a page with your phone number and website, and the app tells you that a card at that address was scanned. We don’t know who scanned it.
- Crew. An account owner can invite crew members by email. Everyone on the account sees the company’s pins and mailing history.
Pin addresses come from address-lookup services and map data. They are sometimes wrong. Check the address before you send.
3. Your postcard, your responsibility
You write or choose everything that appears on your card. We don’t check it. You promise that:
- It’s true. Your company name, phone number, website, address, license or registration number, and any claim like “licensed and insured,” “bonded,” “certified,” “free inspection” or “family owned” must be accurate and current when the card is mailed.
- You follow your state’s rules. Many states have rules for how contractors advertise. You are responsible for following them. For example, Pennsylvania’s Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act requires your PA HIC registration number to appear on your advertising, including postcards, and real estate ads must follow your state’s licensing rules (in Pennsylvania, the brokerage’s name and phone number) and fair housing law. Other states and cities may require a license number, specific wording, or a registration with them before you advertise.
- You follow advertising law. No false or misleading claims, no fake urgency, no pretending to be a government agency, insurance company or utility, and no promises you won’t keep.
- You have the right to use it. You own your logo and photos, or have permission to use them.
- It’s appropriate for any mailbox. No threats, hate, adult content, or anything illegal.
We may refuse to mail a card, or remove a design, if we believe it breaks these rules or the rules of our mail partner or the US Postal Service. If we learn a license claim is false, we may pause your account.
4. Respecting homeowners
Cards are addressed to “Current Resident,” not to a person by name. The people who get your card didn’t ask for it, so we ask you to be a good neighbor:
- No harassment. Don’t use Knockless to pressure, frighten, follow or repeatedly target a household.
- Honor “do not mail” requests. If a homeowner asks you not to contact them, stop mailing that address, and don’t work around it with a different account or another service. You can also tell us, and we’ll block the address.
- Don’t target people who said no. Don’t send cards to someone you know has asked not to be contacted, or to someone you have a personal dispute with.
- Once a month at most. The app won’t mail the same home from your company more than once in 30 days, and won’t start a second neighborhood mailing around the same job (or the same mail carrier route) within 30 days. Don’t work around this with another account.
- A few neighborhood mailings a day. Each neighborhood mailing buys a fresh address list, so a company can start at most 3 of them per day.
Homeowners can ask us directly to stop all Knockless mail to their address at knockless.app/stop or through our contact form. Every Knockless postcard prints that web address. When they do, we block that address for every Knockless customer, and cards to it won’t be sent or charged.
5. Pricing and payment
| Single postcard (a pin you dropped) | $1.75 each |
|---|---|
| Neighborhood mailing: the 20 or 50 closest homes | $1.75 each |
| Neighborhood mailing: the whole neighborhood (every home on the mail route) | $1.50 each |
| Minimum per send | $5.00 |
- We hold, then charge. When you tap Send, the app shows the total. We place a hold for that total on your saved card before anything is printed. Once the cards are accepted for mailing, we charge only for the accepted cards and release the rest of the hold.
- The $5.00 minimum. If a send adds up to less than $5.00, you pay $5.00 for that send. For example, 2 cards at $1.75 would be $3.50, so you pay $5.00.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card is stored by Stripe, not by us. By saving a card, you let us charge it for each send you make. Charges come from York Computer Repair Inc., so your statement and the card form may show “York Computer.”
- Monthly budget. You can set a monthly spending limit in the app. A send that would go over it is stopped before any charge.
- New accounts start small. For its first 30 days a company can mail up to $150 a month. Need more sooner? Send us a message and we’ll raise it once we’ve said hello. Your bank may also ask you to approve the first payment.
- Failed payments. If a charge doesn’t go through, nothing is mailed. We may pause sending until you update your card.
- Taxes. Prices don’t include any sales tax that may apply.
- Price changes. We’ll tell you before prices change. New prices only apply to sends made after the change.
6. What you’re charged for, and refunds
You only pay for cards that actually get mailed.
- Rejected cards aren’t charged. Sometimes a card can’t be mailed, for example when the Postal Service can’t confirm the address, the home is on our do-not-mail list, or your company mailed it in the last 30 days. You are not charged for those cards. The $5.00 minimum still applies to a send when at least one card is mailed. If no cards in a send are mailed, the hold is released and you pay nothing, not even the minimum.
- No refunds for cards that were mailed. Once a card is printed and handed to the mail service, it costs us money we can’t get back. That includes cards the Post Office later returns or can’t deliver, cards to a vacant home, and cards sent to a wrong address you picked.
- Mistakes on your card. Check your design and details before you send. We can’t refund cards that were mailed with a typo or old information you entered.
- Our mistakes. If a card was mailed wrong because of an error on our end, contact us and we’ll make it right with a reprint or a refund.
7. Mail delivery
Postcards are printed and mailed by our partner, Lob, and delivered by the US Postal Service as First-Class Mail. Any delivery time we show (for example, “arrives in about 5–7 business days”) is an estimate, not a promise. We aren’t responsible for Postal Service delays, lost mail, or mail that isn’t delivered.
8. Your account
- Keep your sign-in private. You’re responsible for everything done on your account, including by your crew.
- Keep your company details up to date.
- Tell us right away through our contact form if you think someone else is using your account.
- You can stop using Knockless any time. To close your account, send us a message through our contact form.
9. When we may pause or close an account
We may pause or close an account, or refuse a send, if:
- we see harassment, complaints from homeowners, or ignored “do not mail” requests;
- a card makes false claims, such as a fake or expired license number;
- payments fail, are disputed, or look like fraud;
- the account is used in a way that breaks the law or these terms; or
- our mail partner or payment processor tells us to stop.
When we can, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to fix it. If we close your account for a reason that isn’t your fault, we’ll refund any cards that were charged but not mailed.
10. Our stuff and your stuff
The Knockless app, name and design belong to us. You may use the app for your business while you have an account.
Your logo, photos, company details and card designs stay yours. You give us permission to store, copy and send them to our print and mail partner, only as needed to run the service and mail your cards. Your logo is stored at a web address our printer can open, and your company name, phone number and website appear on the page people see when they scan your card’s QR code.
11. No guarantees
We work hard to keep Knockless running and accurate, but we provide it “as is.” We don’t promise that the app will always be available, that every address lookup will be right, that a neighborhood mailing reaches every nearby home, that a card will be delivered on a certain day, that scan alerts will catch every scan, or that mailing will get you any jobs.
12. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- We are not responsible for lost profits, lost jobs, lost data, or indirect or consequential damages.
- Our total responsibility for any claim about Knockless is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim came up.
Some states don’t allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
13. If your card gets us into trouble
If someone makes a claim against us because of what was on your card, how you used Knockless, or because you broke these terms or the law (for example, a false license claim or ignoring a do-not-mail request), you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim, including legal fees.
14. Pennsylvania law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts serving York County, Pennsylvania. Before going to court, please reach us through our contact form. Most problems can be fixed with a conversation.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using Knockless after a change, you accept the new terms.
